The Eiffel Tower, Paris, France
The Eiffel Tower represents Paris, It is mass tallest structure made up of Iron beside the river Seine in Paris. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel for the Universal Exposition and it was completed in 1889. The Prince of Wales Edward performed official duties at the ceremonial opening of the tower. The Eiffel tower is 984 ft tall and weighs 7000 tons. The structure has three levels. The first level offers an exceptional panorama of sights from the Tower. There are a Souvenir shops and a restaurant known as “Altitude 95”. This level also has a panoramic gallery displaying the Monuments of Paris. The second level displays Telescopes for a beautiful view of Parace and shops. It also has an elevators and a Jules Verne Restaurant. The third level has an office of Gustave Eiffel.
In the beginning The Eiffel tower faced lot of criticism. People of Paris called it a complete waste of money. The artistic community of Paris also called the tower “truly tragic street lamp” .The nature lovers thought that the tower interfered with the space of flying creatures. Today, the Eiffel Tower is an icon of Paris, and is embraced by the city though it has been a witness of a few strange scenes. In 1954 the tower was scaled by a mountaineer. In 1923, the journalist Pierre Labric rode a bicycle down from the first level. The sight of Eiffel Tower during night is marvelous, the gold Highlights during night. The scene can not be missed by anybody who visits Paris.
