Beaujolais Nouveau's Release
On third Thursday of November; people celebrate a festivals, dinners and, lot of drinking and the day is known as arrival of season's Beaujolais nouveau. It's a tradition in France, where reveler gathers in cafes and restaurant to sip the Beaujolais Nouveau. Beaujolais is a strip of land 35 miles long in the major city Layon in south of France. The region is suppose to be a part of Burgundy but is a separate wine world. It produces a red wine which is made from Gamay grape. It is, fermented for just a few weeks then officially released for sale on the third Thursday of November. This "Beaujolais Day", was made to celebrate the end of the harvest.
The Gamay grape is only discovered in a hilly area of France north of Lyon. By French law grape can be picked by hands no machine can be used. It is a sophisticated drink. It is prepared by storing for about six weeks and the taste is much lighter than the other wines. In the ancient time French farmers usually tasted the wine to celebrate the end of the harvest, and now since the last few decade, modern people of French has embraced this culture and has been celebrating it every year. There are certain rules to be followed before tasting on the D day. The new Beaujolais is not allowed to be served before Thursday on November and so on the g Wednesday evening, restaurants and bars in France, count the minutes until midnight for people who are longing to drink wine. The day is celebrated with lot of pomp and show. The music and wine fill energy in a crowd even on a cold day.
