Bastille Day

The Bastille Day is a French National Holiday. It has a history behind it. Bastille was a prison in Paris, known as “Bastille Saint-Antoine”. In July 14, 1789 the prisioners stormed of the Bastille which was a symbol of liberty and the fight against cruelty for all French citizens’. It lead to the end of the country's monarchist rule and the establishment of a new French Republic in 1792. With the Tricolor flag, it symbolized the Republic's three ideals Liberty, Equality and Fraternity for all French citizens and the end of Kings’ power. In France the storming of the Bastille began the Great Revolution.

The event was remembered one year later by the Fete de la Federation and was declared as a national holiday. The Bastille day is still celebration for the French, but now it is located the July Column and the Opera Bastille. The event opens with Military parades, which takes place on the morning of 14 July, in front of the president of republic. The rest of the event is followed by the meeting of president with Media to discuss the present situation of country than. He also organizes a garden Party which has all the delegates and high officials coming France and Europe.
