Arc de Triomphe Tower
Arc de Triomphe is a Tower which is 164 feet above the ground. Parisian refer to the Arc de Triomphe as L’Etoile. Arc de Triomphe is considered as a symbol of French nationality and patriotism. Napoleon ordered to build Arc De Triomphe in 1806. The purpose was to pay a tribute to French military, but its completion took 15 years, till the time Napoleon was dead. In 1920 a solider was buried beneath the arc, as The Arc de Triomphe was considered the symbol of victory to honor the soldiers who participated in a war of France. After victory the Germans marched through the arch to enter Paris.
There is a museum inside Arc de Triomphe which depicts the history of the tower and inside contains the complicated carvings done by Romantic sculpture Francois Rude which decorate the exterior of the tower as well. There are 284 steps and in order to reach to the top of the tower all these steps need to be crossed. Arc de Triomphe is most well-regarded by Parisians.
